Hello, my name is Ryan Courtney McMahon and I'm a freelance photographer with 10+ years experience working in government, the non-profit and for-profit sector, and newspapers. I provide photography, video documentation and post-production services for a wide range of projects and clients throughout Boston and New England.

I cover events, weddings, engagement and lifestyle shoots, architecture and real estate, professional head shots, family, child, newborn, and senior portraits. I absolutely love capturing intimate shared moments between families and those we are closest to. Each relationship has its own set of beautiful stories and unique histories. I strive to construct a visual language that communicates both the fragility and banalities of the everyday and our relationships in my work. I see every photo shoot as an opportunity to create something new, striking, and beautiful.

I always pay close attention to all of the details of the shot, and the message and overall story the series of images create. I'm also a firm believer in shooting and constructing images utilizing available light and capturing exactly what is being presented to me. Golden hour light is just so magical, I can't help but chase it! But I'm also extremely easy going and always have a blast working with studio and strobe lighting too.
